This is a slightly belated farewell to former Pirates manager
Chuck Tanner. Tanner wasn't the greatest of all the Bucco bosses but I'm not sure anyone ever looked like he enjoyed his job more. Manager of the last Pirate World Series team he also led the drug addled Bucs teams of the middle '80s. I always loved that he was a western PA boy (New Castle) who managed the hometown team. The world's just a little bit dimmer now.
Chuck Tanner was 82.
